Marla's A Global Sweet Shop was born from a simple dream: to share the flavors, traditions, and joy of homemade baked goods with the community.

Founded by partners Norman and Dr. Emma Bercasio, together with Marlon and Agnes Lim, Marla's opened its doors in Goldsboro, North Carolina, with a passion for creating delicious treats that bring people together. Named after Marlon and Agnes, Marla's reflects the heart, dedication, and love that goes into every item that leaves the bakery.

At the center of Marla's success is Agnes Lim, whose baking talent, creativity, and commitment to quality have helped turn a dream into a thriving local business. Drawing inspiration from Filipino favorites and international desserts, Marla's offers a unique blend of traditional recipes and modern flavors that appeal to customers from all backgrounds.

The bakery celebrated its Soft Opening on April 21, 2024, followed by its Grand Opening on June 1, 2024, at its home in Goldsboro. Since then, Marla's has become known for its freshly baked breads, cakes, pastries, desserts, and specialty treats, all made with care and attention to detail.

What began as a small family-owned bakery has grown into a beloved destination for customers seeking quality baked goods, warm hospitality, and a taste of home. Every recipe tells a story, every dessert is made with passion, and every customer is treated like family.

As Marla's celebrates its second anniversary in 2026, we remain grateful for the incredible support of our customers, friends, and community. Your encouragement, loyalty, and love have helped us grow beyond what we ever imagined.
